Model Identifies Zip Codes at High Risk for Childhood Lead Exposure

On March 18, 2024, CEHI research led by affiliate Rashida Callender was published in the North Carolina Medical Journal. We present a model for using aggregated blood lead levels and publicly available Census data to identify ZIP codes at high risk for childhood lead exposure, developed in partnership with the North Carolina Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (NCCLPP). This approach can be applied in data and resource-limited settings.
